Now, I love sweet treats, but every now & then I want a treat that’s on the other end of the spectrum…salty…

I love Miss Danelle over at Lets Dish….She has got a fantastic site, her pictures are always great, and the food, oh the food, always makes me hungry!!  So I defiantly have to say thanks to Danelle for this delicious recipe!!

What you’ll need:

For the dough:

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 tsp salt

1 tbsp sugar

2 1/4 tsp active yeast

1 cup very warm water

For the topping:

1/2 cup warm water

2 tbsp baking soda

3 tbsp melted butter

course salt (I used Sea Salt)

cinnamon sugar

Parmesan cheese

dried garlic flakes

What you’ll do:

~Mix 2 cups of the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast until blended.

~Add water, and mix until blended, add in remaining flour until dough is smooth, soft, and no longer sticks to the sides & bottom of bowl

~Rub ball of dough with oil (lightly), place in bowl and cover with plastic wrap, let rise for 40-60 minutes

~Preheat oven to 475, lightly grease work area, turn dough onto work space, and cut into 4 sections, roll each one into a rope, let rise for 5 minutes

~Mix warm water and baking soda in small bowl for dunking, grease two baking sheets

~Cut dough into 1 to 1 1/2″ sections and dunk into water/BS mix, and place on baking sheet

~Let rise for 10 minutes, then place them in the oven, bake for 5-7 minutes or until lightly browned on top.

~Brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with whatever you want on top of them.

~Last but not least, enjoy!!
