TWD: French Strawberry Cake

Lets first start off with saying THANK YOU to those of you TWD’ers that voted for this cake….DELISH!!!

I had never made a genoise before, and to be honest, didn’t know much about it to begin with it, BUT let me tell you, it is marvelous!!!

I doubled the recipe and made two cakes, and then doubled the recipe for the whipped cream frosting. I also did not mush up the strawberries that are to be used for the filling, as I wanted them to be firm and help hold up the weight of the second layer of the cake and all the whipped topping.

So, at the end of the day this cake was awesome, and I loved it, I will defiantly be making this one again. I think I will also find some other recipes that call for a genoise, as it was so easy to make!!!

  1. I think you were smart to just cut of the strawberries. I think that would have made it even better!
