Island Sliders

While surfing the web I came across Whiskey Sliders, and thought I would give them a go for the Super Bowl party we would be hosting, and then Sunday came along and I forgot where I live, you can’t buy liquor in Colorado on Sunday, this girls still used to Las Vegas, where you can pretty much get whatever you want whenever you want.

What you’ll need:

Ground Beef

Salt & Pepper to taste

1/2 cup Dark Rum

1 cup BBQ Sauce

1/2 cup chicken stock

1 cup chopped white onion

1/2 cup chopped jalapeno

1 cup chopped pineapple

What you’ll do:

~Create your small, but thick sliders and season both sides with salt and pepper.

~Cook sliders on stove top for 5-6 minutes on each side, place on plate and set aside

~Add white onion and saute, once they become translucent add rum and bar-be-que sauce, stir and let cook down for 10-20 minutes, keep your eye on it, and as it cooks down it will get thicker, taste your sauce, if still getting a strong rum taste add chicken stock, let cook, I added the chicken stock to mine, and the end results were great.

~Add jalapeno once you’re near the end of cooking, add sliders back to the pan, and let cook for a 2-3 more minutes.

~Add pineapple at the last-minute so they don’t cook down too much and become too soft

Serve on a dinner roll or slider bun, and enjoy….

  1. these look yummy…but I can’t quite picture your hubby eating them…bar-b-q sauce and pineapple? how did he like them? I may give them a try minus the jalapeno of course…:)

  2. Mom, He hasn’t tried them…no surprise there!
